Clinician Collective

Dear Jazz Educator,
Welcome to my newest project, the
Clinician Collective. I have often wondered about the future of our great American art form, Jazz.  After graduating with a degree in Jazz Studies 3o years ago, my experiences in the music business have led me to develop and conceptualize a project to help the Jazz Educator as well as the Jazz Artist. The Clinician Collective will bring together the Artist with the aspiring Musician; while creating a perfect match with ease for the Educator. Please feel free to browse our Clinicians. This is a work in progress; so please drop me a note with any ideas and experiences you may want to share. Looking forward to hearing from you.

cli·ni·cian      (klĭ-nĭsh'ən)

A musical Clinic is an informal meeting with a guest musician, where a small- to medium-sized audience questions the appearing musician's particular styles and techniques. The musician might perform an entire piece, or demonstrate certain techniques for the audience to observe. The objective is for the audience to learn from the guest musician.

col·lec·tive  (kuh-lek-tiv)

A Collective is a group of people who share or are motivated by at least one common issue or interest, or work together on a specific project(s) to achieve a common objective. Collectives are also characterized by attempts to share and exercise political and social power and to make decisions on a consensus-driven and egalitarian basis. Collectives differ from cooperatives in that they are not necessarily focused upon an economic benefit or saving (but can be that as well).
