Arthur Lipner and Bahian percussionist/vocalist Nanny Assis have a magical touch!  They’ve been bringing a mix of the excitement and energy of Samba, the rich harmony and subtlety of Bossa Nova, and the party groove of NYC’s downtown club scene to each of their area performances - overwhelming audiences along the way. 
 

These two veterans and their new band, BRAZILIAN VIBES, have completed its first album due for release in spring 2009.  Arthur’s doing exciting new things with his visually captivating vibes and marimba. Along with Nanny’s playing/singing and his charismatic front man persona, this group is packed with power and depth. 
 

2008 saw steady engagements for BRAZILIAN VIBES at NYC’s top clubs SOB’s and BB King’s.  With their mix of virtuosity, funky vocals, infectious grooves and improvisation they’ll have the crowd on their feet – jazz audiences included!  Later in their set, Nanny’s wireless vocals will lead him to the middle of the crowd for an impromptu Samba lesson.  Lipner & Assis’s Carnival party attitude leaves audiences enriched musically and feeling good all over.
